In 1998, David worked with the community to fund and place buoys that mark the flats areas around the perimeter of Ocean Reef. The buoys help protect the fragile shallow Turtle Grass and nesting areas from motorboats and jet skis. The cost to install and maintain the system exceeds $30,000.
